Hello Everyone! Below you will find the songs that we sang and played during week 3. As always, if there is a specific skill that you would like to see addressed, you can email me – mary@soundstartsmusic.com – at anytime.
Welcome to Music Time
Our greeting song is also found on our Music Therapy Kids blog here. http://www.musictherapykids.com/welcome-to-music-time-a-new-greeting-song/
We’re Gonna Shake, Shake Shake!
Remember to have your child initiate – Ask, “Where or how else can we shake?”
You Do the Same
What kind of actions can you come up with for imitating? Also encourage your child to think of their own and you imitate them!
Having a Conversation
In addition to the recording, here is the visual that accompanies this song. Having a Conversation Visual You can use the given social situations AND make up your own too!
Book: Dinosaur Pet
Dinosaur Pet is one of my all time favorites! If you decide to purchase your own copy, it comes with a CD. The inside cover shares that Neil Sedaka adapted the lyrics of his famous “Calendar Girl” for his own grandkids.

Open & Shut (Expanda Ball)
Honestly I couldn’t think of a substitution for this toy (ideas welcome!). You can get one from amazon here, though. I have the “mini.” They come in much larger sizes too! Here are the lyrics:
Open & shut. Open & shut.
Give a little tap, tap, tap.
Open & shut. Open & shut.
Put it in ____(name’s) lap, lap, lap.
I am Confident
The official recording will be up on the Music Therapy Kids blog in about a week or so (I will have the link next week), but here is my rough cut so you can get started listening and learning!
3 Bears with a Beat
In addition to the recording, you will find all the lyrics here: 3 Bears with a Beat.
Come on Let’s Drum
Use any type of drums or drum substitutes that you may have available!
Goodbye
This is how we said goodbye as our session concluded.
Can’t wait to see you in week 4!
