TEAM MUSIC THERAPIST

THE OPPORTUNITY
Sound Starts is seeking a team music therapist to provide client services. This individual will work with a variety of families in a variety of locations to provide high quality music therapy sessions and/or adapted music lessons. Our team music therapists communicate frequently with families and an assigned supervisor (center clinical director or community clinical director). This dynamic music therapist maintains a caseload of music therapy clients and is responsible for assisting their supervisor with onboarding new clients as needed. This individual can expect to work closely with their supervisor to create and execute both personal goals and goals related to growth of the company.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY LOOK LIKE
On a typical day you will fulfill music therapy services to your clients according to your current schedule. You may be on-site at one of our centers, at a client’s home, or at a school or facility in the community. You will complete documentation and respond to supervisor direction/feedback swiftly. You will connect weekly with your supervisor and be an engaged participant in team meetings.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The core roles of a team music therapist are to

1) PROVIDE music therapy services to your clients
2) COMMUNICATE with families, facilities, your supervisor, and your team regarding services
3) ELEVATE your skills as a music therapist via supervision and continuing education

HOURS, PAY RANGE, & BENEFITS
Two positions are available. One position will begin full time 30-40 hours per week. The second will begin part time 16-24 hours per week and will quickly grow to full time if the team member desires!

Work days will most always include Saturday. All work activities (direct service, documentation, office hours, driving) are paid at a single hourly rate starting at $24.15 per hour. Because this is an employed position (not contract), client cancellations are always paid! Sound Starts provides continuing education opportunities to team members and reimburses mileage. Full time employees (30 hours+ per week) are eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance.

SIGN ON/REFERRAL BONUS
All new team members are eligible for a sign on bonus of $600 paid on first payroll following hire. Additionally, if you are referred by a current Sound Starts’ team member, they are also eligible for a referral bonus! Additional details and eligibility guidelines are available upon request.

QUALIFICATIONS
MT-BC or eligible to sit for exam
Professional clinical experience preferred, newly certified may still apply.
Genuine desire and passion for working with children, teens, and young adults.
