Opening: EDUCATION DIRECTOR

THE OPPORTUNITY
Sound Starts is seeking a music therapist to fulfill a leadership role of education director that will elevate the program and company overall to a new level of growth. This individual will provide high level support to student music therapists as they fulfill their internship requirements. Our education director will maintain our national roster internship site status and provide ongoing supervision to interns. The education director will also coordinate practicum placements with local universities and respond to outside requests for interviews/observations. This leader will maintain a caseload of music therapy clients. This individual is a member of the Sound Starts Leadership team and can expect to work closely with the CEO/additional leadership team members to create and execute plans to grow the company.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY LOOK LIKE
On a typical day you will fulfill music therapy services to your clients. You will spend time on internship tasks. You will be on-site at our center to provide supervision and assistance to the interns as needed. You will conduct 1:1 meetings with the interns and address needs as they arise.

HOURS, PAY RANGE, & BENEFITS
This is a full time, salaried position. $45,000-$48,000. Work days are Tuesday-Saturday. Sound Starts contributes to health insurance, vision, dental, if elected. Other benefits are listed in the full job description.

Opening: TEAM MUSIC THERAPIST

THE OPPORTUNITY
Sound Starts is seeking a team music therapist to provide client services. This individual will work with a variety of families in a variety of locations to provide high quality music therapy sessions and/or adapted music lessons. Our team music therapists communicate frequently with families and an assigned supervisor (center clinical director or community clinical director). This dynamic music therapist maintains a caseload of music therapy clients and is responsible for assisting their supervisor with onboarding new clients as needed. This individual can expect to work closely with their supervisor to create and execute both personal goals and goals related to growth of the company.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY LOOK LIKE
On a typical day you will fulfill music therapy services to your clients according to your current schedule. You may be on-site at one of our centers, at a client’s home, or at a school or facility in the community. You will complete documentation and respond to supervisor direction/feedback swiftly. You will connect weekly with your supervisor and be an engaged participant in team meetings.

HOURS, PAY RANGE, & BENEFITS
The position will begin part time with a minimum of 16 hours per week. The position is expected to grow quickly to 30+ hours per week. Once full time, team members have the opportunity to transition into a salaried position. Work days will always include Saturday. Pay varies with education and experience and all activities (direct service, documentation, admin, driving) are paid at a single hourly rate – $21-24/hr. Sound Starts provides continuing education opportunities to team members and reimburses mileage.

Full time employees are eligible for health, dental, and vision insurance.

QUALIFICATIONS
MT-BC or eligible to sit for exam
Professional clinical experience preferred, newly certified may still apply.

Opening: ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

THE OPPORTUNITY
Sound Starts is seeking an administrative assistant to provide comprehensive support to our team. This individual will work on-site at our Frisco office and communicate frequently with our team of music therapists, client families, and points of contact for community contracts. This individual will fulfill a variety of administrative tasks including billing, payroll, and documentation submission. The ideal team member will survey existing systems and update or create new ones as needed to increase efficiency in the business. The administrative assistant can expect to work closely with the CEO to create and fulfill goals related to growth of the company. 

A TYPICAL DAY MAY LOOK LIKE
On a typical day you will fulfill administrative tasks at our Frisco center according to established drum beats. You will make necessary phone calls and respond to emails. You will use Trello to communicate with the team about a variety of topics including clients and documentation. You will keep the CEO informed about the status of day to day operations as well as any significant issues and how they are being resolved.

1) PROVIDE comprehensive support to our team by efficiently and accurately completing administrative tasks

HOURS, PAY RANGE, & BENEFITS
The position will initially be 20-25 hours per week on weekdays. 9a-2p is preferred but hours can be flexible. Hourly rate is $15-$18 per hour. Once the position reaches 30+ hours per week, it will be considered full time and team members are eligible for health, dental, and vision.

QUALIFICATIONS
Enthusiastic support and basic knowledge of music therapy and the services we provide
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred, but not required
Administrative office experience preferred

Opening: SOCIAL MEDIA JEDI

THE OPPORTUNITY
Sound Starts is seeking a social media jedi to manage and post to social accounts on a daily basis. This individual may or may not be a Sound Starts’ team music therapist and will work with team members and clients to source relevant content. Our social media jedi will use their creative superpowers to design engaging videos or graphics via canva. Content will be regularly posted and added to our Recur Post library. This individual can expect to work closely with their supervisor to create and execute personal goals and goals related to growth of the company – especially related to social metrics.

A TYPICAL DAY MAY LOOK LIKE
On a typical day you will create and post social media content to Sound Starts’ social channels according to established frequencies. If you are also a team music therapist, you will provide services on-site at one of our center’s, at a client’s home, or at a facility in the community. You will connect weekly with your supervisor and be an engaged participant in monthly team meetings.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The core roles of the social media jedi is to
1) CREATE content for Sound Starts’ social media channels
2) POST relevant content
3) MAINTAIN content library and auto posting schedule
4) COMMUNICATE with supervisor regarding social metrics, content ideas, general report

HOURS, PAY RANGE, & BENEFITS
This is a part time position of 2-4 hours per week. The position may be hourly or tied to a salaried position at Sound Starts.
Ideally, this role would be fulfilled by an existing team member looking to trade a few hours of clinical work. Outside applicants will still be considered but will need to come to our office(s) at least one time per week. Hourly rate will range from $15-$24 per hour. Benefits are as arranged in the team member’s primary role. If stand alone part-time, no benefits are available.
